Reposted for the daytime crowd:
Cars I saw this week but wasn’t fast enough to get the photo - but the colors are correct!
People did a lot of hating on the SLC in its time. I always thought they were a decent GT car. And one of them saved a friend’s life when she cracked it up.
Third or fourth one I’ve seen in the wild - I really like the design. If I needed a car in this class, I wonder if I’d get one or just go with my first instinct (Grand Cherokee). My sister has a loaded Grand Cherokee, and it’s an impressive vehicle.
I saw somewhere around here that someone wrote about the S-Class coupe and convertible going away. Having driven neither, I still think I’d want an Aston if I was shopping in that class. And I’ve always had a soft spot for the 911 Targa, if I’m honest, but it’s really not the same sort of thing.

I’m not a fan of that generation of SL/SLC either.
Though I prefer the SLC over the SL.

If one looks at a SLC as a cruiser, kind of a German Buick, it isn’t bad. People always fail to realize that 107s aren’t sports cars. They have a lot of style, in a disco chic way, and are generally undervalued, even the best ones aren’t worth a lot.
DB11 is a bit more expensive than all S coupes other than S65, I think.

Fair enough ...

The SLC I (briefly) drove had a great ride, build quality for days, and a bit of a rear diff noise. It’s dwarfed by modern Mercedes, yet probably betters many of them for the pure GT experience.

And it has an air of class about it that 21st century cars seldom can approach anymore.
This one still haunts me, almost 10 years later:

Wonderful color combo (and that interior, wow). It ended up going for 6K at auction.

Wow - the wheel covers make it look even more dignified. Haunts because you should have bid on it?

If I had space, yeah. I’ve always liked SLCs in a way too, the rear window louvers always caught my eye. That would be an ideal candidate - early car with small bumpers, pristine PNW car, great colors (that interior pushes my buttons), for 6 grand. Sadly, even today not worth a fortune.
